Silhouette

Silhouette, a fixed wing UAV, was developed based on a winning aircraft at an SAE heavy lift competition in the early 90s. The large cargo space of the Silhouette allows for easy access to the payload, and the aircraft has a heavy lift capability, as well as low aerodynamic drag design, making this aircraft a great candidate for a small UAV platform.
The major structure of the aircraft was manufactured with advanced composite materials such as carbon, aramid, and glass fibers in several molds to save weights. Though originally powered by a 2 cycle gas engine, it is easily converted to a modern electric power package for propulsion.
